Samuel Cohen, 89, died Oct. 20.  He was the husband of Ida (Epstein). Born in New Rochelle, N.Y., he moved to Palestine at age 13 and to Hartford two years later. He was a World War II veteran of the U.S. Army Air Corps, flying 50 missions as lead bombardier and 1st Lieutenant. He was a member of the 376th Heavy Bombardment Group based in southern Italy. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children, Mark (Janice) Cohen, and Janice (Byron) Fisher; his daughter-in-law Holly; his sister Annette Yush; and nine grandchildren: Jared (Lisa), Ali, Ian, Tes, Max, Austin, Nathan, Eli and Nora. He was pre-deceased by his son Fred and daughter-in-law Adrienne.
