Harold ‘Hal’ Leon Brainin

Harold ‘Hal’ Leon Brainin of   Wethersfield, died Jan. 5. He was the husband of Ruth (Schwartz) Brainin.  Born in the Bronx, N.Y., he was the son of Benjamin and Yetta (Braunstein) Brainin. He was a U.S. Army Veteran of World War II and a graduate of Fordham University School of Pharmacy. He was a member of the Jewish War Veterans and of Congregation B’nai Sholom, Newington. In addition to his wife, he is survived by three daughters, Barbara Anghel of Manchester, Ann Brainin of Burbank, CA, and Janis Monat and her husband, George, of Sharon, MA; two  grandsons, Benjamin I. Monat and Yonatan A. Monat; two sisters-in-law, Joanne Schwartz of Wethersfield and Beatrice Brainin of N.Y.; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a brother, William D. Brainin; and brother-in-law, Owen Schwartz.
