Rhoda (Shafter) Shifreen of West Hartford, formerly of Whitestone, N.Y., died Jan. 20. She was the widow of Seymour S. Shifreen. Born in Brooklyn, N.Y., she was the daughter of the late Philip and Bertha (Rabinowitz) Shafter. She is survived by her children, Dr. Steven (Julie) Shifreen of West Hartford, Franklin Shifreen of New York City, and Dawn Pomerantz of Lafayette, Calif.; and grandchildren Amanda and Aaron Shifreen and Eli and Briel Pomerantz. She also leaves a dear friend, Max Felder. She was also predeceased by two brothers, Alfred and Bernard Shafter.
