Bridgeport preschools to merge

BRIDGEPORT – The boards of directors of the Jewish Center for Community Services (JCCS) and Congregation Rodeph Sholom, both in Bridgeport, have unanimously approved an initiative to develop a comprehensive collaboration between their early childhood programs beginning this September 2012.
A committee of leadership, appointed jointly by Hank Banach, President of Rodeph Sholom and Shelley Kreiger, chair of JCCS, is meeting to develop specific operational details.
In the coming program year, the collaborative pre-school will operate in the present JCC early childhood facilities. Beginning in the fall of 2013, the program will relocate to Congregation Rodeph Sholom’s early childhood facilities while a new early childhood wing is constructed as part of the Jewish Home/JCCS Campus building at the site of the current Jewish Community Center. The new facilities are expected to open for the fall of 2015.
