Samuel Kaplowitz, 102, of New Haven, died Oct. 5. He was the widower of Dorothy (Charm) Kaplowitz. Born in New Haven, he was a son of the late Harry and Celia (Weiner) Kaplowitz. He is survived by his children, Howard of Livingston, N.J., and Betsy Goldstein and her husband Steven of W. Orange, N.J.; his grandchildren, Rabbi Elliot Kaplowitz and his wife Toby, Emily Kaplowitz, and Aaron Kaplowitz, Rena Goldstein, Aliza  Goldstein, Ari Goldstein and his wife Hilary, and Elana Goldstein; and his great-grandchildren, Yisrael, Matan, Oshra Kaplowitz, Ezra and Noah Goldstein. He was also predeceased by his daughter-in-law Sarajane Kaplowitz, and his siblings, Shirley Estra, Edith Kuperstein, Abraham Kaplowitz, and Louis Carroll. ROBERT E. SHURE FUNERAL HOME
