Miriam “Mimi” (Gellman) Wachtel, 90, of Surfside, Fla. and West Hartford, formerly of Brooklyn, N.Y. died April 25. She was the widow of Frederick R. Wachtel. Born in Brooklyn, N.Y., she was the daughter of the late Samuel and Olga (Warshaw) Gellman. She is survived by her daughters, Rona Gelber and her husband Barry Gelber of Avon, and Alison Kaplan of Santa Fe, NM; her brother Sheldon Gellman of Jericho, N.Y; her grandchildren, Jonathan Gelber and his wife Christina of West Hartford, Lonnie Gelber and his wife Karen of Avon, and Frederic Carter of Avon; her great-grandchildren, Jordan, Emma and Ashley Gelber; and many nieces and nephews.
