Jerusalem takes shape in Greenwich

On Sunday, April 26, as part of their Yom Ha’atzmaut – Israel Independence Day – celebration, students at Temple Sholom Religious School in Greenwich used 70,000 Legos to construct a replica of the Old City of Jerusalem. Architect Stephen Schwartz of Building Blocks Workshops supervised the effort of close to 200 students, ages 5 to 13, then led the students and their parents on a guided tour of the city. Pictured here: Schwartz guides a group of fifth grade boys in constructing David’s Citadel, located near the Old City’s Jaffa Gate.
