David and Hilary Silver of West Hartford announce the engagement of their daughter Shira to Alex Langer, son of Dawn and Jeff Langer of Washington, D.C.

The future bride attended the University of Maryland. She currently works at the Environmental Defense Fund.

The future groom attended the University of Denver and currently works at the Israel Action Network.

The couple resides in Washington, D.C. A wedding is planned for July 2016 in West Hartford.
