SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 28

WEDNESDAY, DECEMBER 2

West Hartford – Latkes & Laughter; entertainment by Linda Belt; co-hosted by Hoffman SummerWood Community and West Hartford Senior Center; 2 p.m.; at the Senior Center in Bishops Corner, (860) 561-7583. $3/members; $4/non-members. Advance registration a must.

West Hartford – Chanukah Fair; latkes, paint Chanukah pottery with the Claypen, create wooden menorahs, PJ Library story telling, make holiday cards, and more; 3 – 4:30 p.m.; FREE ($10 fee for Claypen)

West Hartford – “Fire on Ice” Chanukah @ Blue Back; watch a master ice-carver sculpt a giant menorah from a raw block of ice, which will then be lit as the first candle of the holiday; also interactive construction of a huge Lego dreidel, live music, raffles, Hebrew Academy children’s choir; heated tent; food for sale from Yosi’s Kosher Catering; 4 p.m.; hosted by Chabad of Greater Hartford at Blue Back Square, (860) 232-1116, www.chabadhartford.com.
