Meeting of the minds

Leaders of Jewish Federations across North America visited the United Nations headquarters in New York City recently to discuss a variety of world issues affecting Israel, the Middle East, and diaspora Jewry. The small mission, whose largest delegations came from the Stamford and New York Federations, met with Israeli Ambassador Danny Danon, Canadian Ambassador Michael Grant, French Ambassador François Delattre, Ukrainian Deputy Chief of Mission Yuriy Vitrenko, and Antonella Caruso, director of the United Nations Middle East and West Asia Division, and others. Among the topics they touched on: the status of Israel at the UN, implementation of the Iran deal, the plight of displaced Ukrainians, the Middle East refugee crisis, and European antisemitism.
