Mitzvah Day in Simsbury

As their Mitzvah Day activity, Farmington Valley Jewish Congregation-Emek Shalom (FVJC) religious school students and their parents prepared bagged lunches to bring to Loaves and Fishes and the South Park Inn soup kitchens. Parents also met with the president of the ABC House (A Better Chance) in Simsbury, a non-profit organization helping academically talented young men of color from underserved communities. The Simsbury synagogue’s seventh-graders joined forces with the ABC students to bake pies to sell in support of FVJC’s Social Action Budget.
