Israel at the fair

The State of Israel was well represented at the Pine Grove Elementary School multicultural fair in Avon on Friday, Jan. 20. The annual fair highlighted the various cultures and countries of origin of the school’s students. Kids who stopped by the Israel table enjoyed hearing about Tel Aviv and the Dead Sea – and especially loved the sound of the shofar. The table was organized by Pine Grove parents Michele and Dan Gottfried and Jessica Fish, and the community shlicha (Israel emissary) Michal Abramoff, who realized that despite a student body that includes a good number of Jewish students, there hadn’t been an Israel/Jewish table at the multicultural fair in many years. They’re already looking forward to manning an Israel table at next year’s fair – and they invite other Pine Grove parents to join them in the effort.

CAP: Dan and Michelle Gottfried, and Jessica Fish.
