Miami Beach Jewish center vandalized

(JTA) – A swastika and an upside-down cross were painted on a decorative post in front of a Jewish center in Miami Beach, Florida. A security guard at the West Avenue Jewish Center discovered the vandalism early Wednesday morning, the local ABC affiliate News 10 reported. An upside-down cross is sometimes a symbol of satanism or the occult. The center houses a Jewish day school for boys, a rabbinical college and an Orthodox synagogue – Congregation Beth Medrash Levi Yitzchok Lubavitch. The official name of the building, which is several stories tall, is the Haim and Gila Wiener Florida Lubavitch Headquarters.
