
Malcolm Rashba, 90, Hamden, Conn. died July 15. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Barbara Rashba. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children, Steven and Amy, Jeffrey and Hedy, Marc and Julie and Sigal. His grandchildren, Ilana, Orli, Eitan, Noah, Yaella, Srul, Jordan, Gabriel, Naama, Talia, Aviya, Elad, Adi, Anaelle, and Idan; his great-grandchildren, Lavi Gavriel and Neta Miriam; and his nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his son Gary. Born in New Haven, he was the son of Abe and Sonya Rashba, and the brother of Norman. He received his BS and JD degrees from the University of Connecticut. After his discharge from the army, he began a long career practicing law in Hamden. He was active in numerous professional and civic organizations. He served as president of Congregation Bnai Jacob, Hamden Probus, and United Synagogue of Conservative Judaism Connecticut Valley Region. He was active in the New Haven County Bar Association, American Bar Association, and other professional organizations. He served on the boards of the Milford YMCA, New Haven Jewish Federation, Camp Laurelwood, United Synagogue Of Conservative Judaism, and the Hamden Chamber of Commerce. He received the Justice Louis Brandeis Award from the ZOA and the Shem Tov Award from B’nai Jacob. He was elected to the Orange Board of Finance and as a Justice of the Peace.
