Remembering Kristallnacht in Orange

Congregation Or Shalom in Orange, Connecticut held its 16th annual community-wide Kristallnacht Commemoration on Sunday, Nov. 13. Posthumously honored at the event was Kateryna Sikorska. Kateryna, a courageous Ukrainian widow, and her three young daughters, risked their lives to save Jews during the Holocaust. Senator Blumenthal is seen here presenting a U.S. Senate Certificate of Special Recognition to Kateryna’s family via Rabbi Alvin Wainhaus.
