Charles Whitman, 84 of Trumbull, Conn., died Saturday, January 21 at St. Vincent’s Medical Center in Bridgeport. Born in the Bronx, N.Y., he was the son of the late Milton and Marion Whitman. He honorably served in the U.S. Army during the Cuban Missile Crisis. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Joy Whitman;  his son, Randy Whitman and his wife Melissa; his grandchildren, Melanie and Ian; and a brother, Gerald Whitman and his wife Monica.
