Guests from several Connecticut communities as well as Western Massachusetts gathered in June to honor the Zachs family of West Hartford and Barbara Zalesch of New Haven at the annual fundraising dinner of the Hebrew High School of New England (HHNE). Held at Beth El Temple in West Hartford, the “Big Bang Event” scholarship fundraiser featured a keynote speech by Mayim Bialik, star of the CBS hit comedy “The Big Bang Theory,” who mixed tidbits from her Hollywood career, her journey to being an observant Jew and her passion of “attachment parenting.” (l to r) Eric Zachs, Judi Zachs, Mayim Bialik, Henry Zachs and Jessica Zachs.
