Trump plans golf course in Israel

(JNS.org)  Donald Trump plans to build a world-class golf course in Ashkelon, Globes reported. Trump is interested in building a course on a 210-acre site on the Mediterranean coast, adjacent to the Nitzanim Nature Reserve. The project will include an 18-hole course, 650 hotel recreation units, a convention hall, a country club, and commercial space. “I have great affection for Israel and its people, and I believe that Israel is a worthy place to be included in the list of communities which host Trump golf centers,” Trump said in a letter to Ashkelon Mayor Benny Vaknin. Trump has expressed interest in Israel for years. He also endorsed Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in elections last January, calling him a “great man and great prime minister.” If built, the golf course would be Israel’s second full course after the Caesarea Golf & Country Club.
