WEST HARTFORD – Beatrice Fox Auerbach, one of Connecticut’s most influential philanthropists and the owner and CEO of America’s largest privately owned department store, G. Fox & Co., is the subject of a new exhibit on display through Sept. 27 at the Mandell JCC. The exhibit, “Beatrice Fox Auerbach: The Woman, Her World and Her Wardrobe,” uses Auerbach’s clothing and personal accessories to tell her life story. The exhibit will be highlighted by a reception and historical presentation on Thursday, August 15, 6 – 8 p.m.

Beatrice Fox Auerbach: The Woman, Her World and Her Wardrobe is presented in partnership with the Jewish Historical Society of Greater Hartford and the University of Connecticut Historical Costume & Textile Collection Department, and is curated by Laura Crow and Maarit Uusitalo.
