Helping loved ones age gracefully

HHCRecently, dozens of caregivers gathered at Hoffman SummerWood Community in West Hartford to learn the six steps to take in order to avoid having a loved one placed in a nursing home and to have their caregiving questions answered by a panel of Hebrew Health Care (HHC) experts. Moderated by Mary Jones of WDRC-AM/The Talk of Connecticut radio, the panel included (l to r): Jonas Steiner, HHC vice president of Admissions and Social Work Services; Pamela Atwood, HHC director of Dementia Care Services; Bonnie Gauthier, HHC president and CEO. “The goal of Aging Care Academy is to empower caregivers to be informed, protected, supported and cared for. Classes are designed to address the physical, mental, spiritual, and emotional needs of the caregiver,” said Pamela Atwood.
