Seeking Kindertransport stories

A new film chronicling the World War II Kindertransport rescue operation of Sir Nicholas Winton.

On Monday, March 26, the Mandell JCC Hartford Jewish Film Festival (March 17-27) will screen “Nicky’s Family,” a new film chronicling the World War II Kindertransport rescue operation of Sir Nicholas Winton. In conjunction with that event, the JCC is seeking Connecticut residents, or their descendants, who were Czech or Slovak citizens rescued in the 1939 Kindertransport from Czechoslovakia to London. Those who fit the bill and would like to share their story – or that of their parent or grandparent – are asked to email Harriet J. Dobin at hdobin@mandelljcc.org or call (860) 231-6350. The stories may be used in educational materials and programs surrounding the film screening.
