Alzheimer’s Association program at Southbury Federation

A free four-part Alzheimer’s Association Training Program for Caregivers is being offered in Southbury at the Jewish Federation,
444 Main St. North. Geared for those caring for loved ones with Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias, the program will be held on four Thursdays, August 2, 9, 16 and 23, from 2-3:30 p.m.. Light refreshments will be served.
This initial training on Aug. 2 features Dr. Daniel Wollman, medical director of the Lutheran Home of Southbury and an executive board member of the Alzheimer’s Association CT Chapter. Wollman will present An Overview of Alzheimer’s Disease and Current Research. The three subsequent trainings include Communication and Behavior Techniques with Heather Hitchcock, Northwestern regional director of the Alzheimer’s Association; Community Resources and Family Dynamics with Patrice Hallum, MA, CT Community Care, Inc.; and Legal and Financial Issues with an elder law attorney.
