Circle of Friends to launch Bar/Bat Mitzvah Volunteer Program on Aug. 22

Circle of Friends, a volunteer organization that reaches out to individuals with special needs and involves them in a full spectrum of social experiences, has launched a volunteer program specifically geared for students who are preparing for their b’nai mitzvah. Through hands-on volunteering at Circle of Friends social events, b’nai mitzvah students will have the opportunity to give back to their communities and  touch the lives of children and teens with special needs. At the completion of the program, each Bar/Bat Mitzvah will receive a certificate documenting his or her involvement in the program. The student will also have the opportunity to join other Circle of Friends volunteer programs.

The first Bar/Bat Mitzvah Volunteer orientation and training session will take place
Wednesday, August 22, 5 – 6:30 p.m. at Beth Israel of Westport/Norwalk, 40 King
Street, Norwalk and will feature “Sushi & Shakes”.
