KRONISCH

Irving Kronisch, age 85 of Fairfield, passed away peacefully at his home on Saturday, June 14, 2014. Mr. Kronisch was born in Bridgeport, a son of the late Abraham and Dora Kronisch. Mr. Kronisch worked for Fairfield Plumbing, Madison Hardware, and was the owner of Kronisch Plumbing Supply. His many contributions as a volunteer include serving the Red Cross, the East Haven Veterans Hospital, the Jewish Home for the Elderly of Fairfield, a committee member of BSA Troop 122, and the Connecticut National Guard. Mr. Kronisch was a lifelong member of the B’nai Brith service organization, president of Loyalty Lodge, provided holiday meals to the needy as district president and founder of Project Hope, and built playgrounds in the inner city of Bridgeport as a member of Brotherhood in Action. Mr. Kronisch is survived by his devoted children, Ellen Baca and her husband Lorenzo of Ft. Wayne, Ind., Marc Kronisch and his wife Hillary of Storrs, Conn., Louis Kronisch and his wife Anne of Quaker Hill, Conn.; his adored grandchildren,  Sarah,, Zachary, and Gregory Kronisch, and Yolanda Campbell; his cherished great-grandchildren, Chloe and Carter Campbell;  his beloved companion of 17 years, Sondra Berkman; his brother-in-law Alan Nishball and his wife Wilma; and by his many nieces and nephews. Mr. Kronisch was predeceased by his first wife, P. Rhea Nishball, his brother Philip Kronisch, his sister Beatrice Meyers, his sister-in-law Sylvia Kronisch, and his brother-in-law Alvin Meyers. Mr. Kronisch was considered like a father to Larry Berkman, Susan Berkman and Guathier Rozenblatt, and like a grandfather to Zachary and Cory Rozenblatt.
