Ethel (Shames) Blatt, 82, of Hamden, died Sept. 16. She was the widow of Sidney J. Blatt. Born in Philadelphia, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Solomon and Fanny Shames. She is survived by her children, Susan Blatt Schwab and her husband Charles Goetsch of Branford, David Blatt and his wife Lisa of Washington, D.C., and Judith Casey and her husband John of Potomac, Md.; and her grandchildren, Lesley, William, Ruth, Sarah, Madeline, Daniel, Thomas, Michael and Rachel. She was also predeceased by her siblings, Ben, Oscar, Sophie, Max and Goldie.
