Turkeys at Temple

In advance of Thanksgiving, The Women’s Network of Beth El Temple collected 64 turkeys and $1001 in donations from the West Hartford synagogue’s congregants, that were then given to the Kosher Food Pantry at Jewish Family Service in West Hartford, as well as Foodshare, to help make the holiday a happy one for those in need. Now in its 20th year, Beth El’s “Take a Turkey to Temple” annual food drive was conceived by congregant Alison Demarest of Avon, who still spearheads the effort. This year Demarest (second from left) was assisted by (l to r) Ahna Bielik of West Hartford, Sheila Diamond of Avon, and Beth Brumberg of West Hartford.
