Michael and Shelley Barker of West Hartford announce the engagement of their daughter, Joanna, to Daniel Levenson, son of David and Meryl Levenson of Sharon, Mass.

The future bride is an employment specialist in the Disability Services Department at Jewish Vocational Services in Boston. She is a graduate of Hall High School in West Hartford and earned a Bachelor’s degree in English from Clark University.

The future groom is executive director of the Jewish Federation of New Hampshire. He was educated at the University of Massachusetts at Amherst and Harvard University.

The couple met and reside in Newton, Mass.  A November 2015 wedding in Connecticut is planned.
