KATZ

Richard H. Katz of Hamden died July 13, three days shy of his 93rd birthday. He was the widower of Elinor Fishman Katz. Born in Bridgeport, he was the son of the late Rose (Kasden) and Jack Katz. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II, completing his service as a Lieutenant Junior Grade, after tours in both military theaters. He participated in D-Day at Normandy and in the Pacific on LST 849 at the battles of Subic Bay and Okinawa. He is survived by his children, Peter Katz and his wife Storm of West Haven, and Elizabeth Katz and her husband Reed E. Hundt) of Chevy Chase, Md.; his siblings, Earl Katz and Muriel White Lidman; his grandchildren, Adam, Nathaniel and Sara Hundt; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
