Bernard Horowitz, of New Haven, formerly of Ansoinia, died August 19, just shy of his 96th birthday. He was the husband of Sylvia Mendelson Horowitz. Born in Brooklyn, New York, he was the son of the late Esther and Morris Horowitz. He was a U.S. Armed Forces veteran of World War II. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children, Marsha Lodge and her husband Dan of Hebron, Diane Degnan and her husband Thom of Walnut Creek, Calif., and Michael Horowitz and his wife Chikako of London, England; his grandchildren, Jennifer Ruthven (Weston), David Lodge, (fiancée Erika), Benjamin Lodge (Jessica), Todd Degnan (Taryn), Jamie Degnan (Jennifer), Aaron and Asher Horowitz; and his great-grandchildren, Isaac and Simon Degnan, Ronan and Fiona Lodge, and Emma and Charlie Ruthven.
