KAYE

Selma Levine Kaye, 91 years of age, of Lantana, Fla., passed away on Monday, Dec. 23. She was the beloved wife of David Kaye and was a devoted wife for 70 years. She was raised in Hartford, Conn. and attended Weaver High School. Selma was the daughter of the late Max and Anna (Rebecca) Levine. Selma and David lived in West Hartford, Conn., and eventually moved full-time to Florida enjoying Glen Eagles in Delray Beach. She was extremely philanthropic and a life member of numerous organizations including Hadassah, the Hebrew Home of Hartford, Jewish Federation, ORT, Mount Sinai Auxiliary, Pap Corps of Glen Eagles, Jewish Community Living, Jewish Family Services along with being a valued member of Emanuel Synagogue for over 50 years.  Selma was an avid golfer achieving two holes in one and a skilled bridge player. She enjoyed an active social life as a member of Cliffside Country Club (Simsbury), Tumblebrook Country Club (Bloomfield) and Glen Eagles Country Club in Delray, Fla. Selma and David also enjoyed numerous travel adventures.  Selma was a true “balabusta,” matriarch of her family and was extremely proud of where she came from and who she was. She is survived by her husband David Kaye and numerous loving nieces and nephews and grand-nieces and grand-nephews who she shared a very close relationship with and was highly respected as a wonderful role model to show how to live a good life. She will be dearly missed. She was predeceased by her brothers, Benson Levine and Kenneth Levine, and her niece Carrie Beecher.  Funeral services were held on Dec. 26 in Lake Worth, Fla. Donations may be made to Jewish Association for Community Living at 900 Asylum Ave, Hartford, CT 06105.
