Stamford’s “Sweet On You” relocates

STAMFORD – When Rebecca Martin bought out partner Judy Roll in 2009, Sweet On You was a kosher cafe and catering business located at the Stamford JCC, opened in 2006. Martin took over a commercial kitchen on Summer St. in Stamford and expanded the catering and wholesale-bakery aspects of the business. She just closed the JCC cafe.
“I moved because the catering and wholesale bakery were going great, and the café was bleeding me dry,” Martin says. “It was washing out all the profit from catering, and you can only do that for so long and stay in business.”
The dairy and fish kitchen is under the supervision of the Vaad HaKashrus of Fairfield County. Martin caters throughout the Fairfield County and New York Metro areas, including events for the Israeli Consul General in New York. Her kosher wholesale bakery business serves several stores in the Fairway Markets chain.
Martin’s staff includes an executive chef whom she trained to run a kosher commercial kitchen.
“We will miss seeing all our friends in the café, especially the kids,” Martin says. “But we do get to see so many people because we continue to serve everybody throughout the community.”
