Hundreds of people in a partying mood gathered at Blue Back Square in West Hartford on Dec. 9 – the second night of Chanukah – to watch a master ice carver sculpt a giant menorah from a block of ice. The ice was joined by fire when the menorah was lit by Dana and Jonathan Keller and their two daughters. The “cool” celebration continued under a heated tent with crafts, music, magic acts and, of course, lots of latkes and other Chanukah treats.

YJP Spinning DreidelsYoung Jewish Professionals (YJP), a group sponsored by the Schneerson Center for Jewish Life in CT and Jewish Twenties and Thirties, couldn’t let Chanukah hurry by without a party at Episode, in Norwalk. Pictured here are YJP party goers trying their hand at spinning dreidels upside down.
